East Bengal come back to Win Thriller against Hyderabad FC.
On a rainy evening at the Salt Lake stadium, East Bengal hosted Hyderabad FC in their second match of the Indian Super League (ISL) season. The two teams, under new coaches and with new players, traded goals within the first 10 minutes, but it was East Bengal who came back from behind to win 2-1 thanks to a late winner from Cleiton Silva.
Hyderabad FC drew first blood in the 8th minute when Hitesh Sharma scored from close range. However, East Bengal equalized just two minutes later through Silva, who chipped the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.
The match remained evenly poised for the rest of the first half, with both teams having chances to score. However, the second half was a much more subdued affair, with neither team able to create many clear-cut opportunities.
Just when it looked like the match was heading for a draw, Silva popped up with a moment of magic in the 94th minute. The Brazilian curled a free-kick over the wall and into the top corner of the net, sending the Salt Lake stadium into a frenzy.
The win was East Bengal's first of the season and it will give them a lot of confidence going forward. It was also their first win against Hyderabad FC in the ISL.
